Group Overview

The Community-Driven Development (CDD) Community of Practice is a dynamic, cross-disciplinary body of CDD practitioners, development partners, and other interested researchers from different countries and sectoral themes within and outside the World Bank. The Community of Practice (CoP) is facilitated by the secretariat anchored under the Social, Urban, Rural and Resilience Global Practice (GSURR) of the World Bank. This website was created for the CoP members across the world to exchange ideas and learn, access useful operational resources, nurture innovations, and strengthen and expand partnership and resource mobilization. It is meant to be a “living” site and welcomes your active participation and contributions!

Fourth Asia Pacific regional conference on community-driven development (CDD) in Colombo, Sri Lanka, April 2018

Connecting CDD Practitioners across Asia and the Pacific: Sharing Lessons and Fostering Innovation on Community Driven Development

In April 2018, the Community Driven Development Global Solutions Group hosted the fourth Asia Pacific regional conference on community-driven development (CDD) in Colombo, Sri Lanka.  The four-day conference brought together 65 participants, including government delegations from 15 countries across the Asia Pacific region implementing CDD programs.  In addition, participants included Bank TTLs and resource persons from a range of Global Practices, as well as from outside the Bank.  The goal of the conference was to continue to deepen a regional peer exchange network begun in 2013, by reflecting on lessons learned, discussing recent innovations, and finding ways to apply lessons across different CDD programs.
